Kwon is a Featherweight with a background in Judo though he often opts to stand and trade with his opponents. He has fought for Shooto, M-1 Global, ONE FC, and currently fights for Road FC. He holds notable victories over Kyung Ho Kang, Honorio Banario, and Michihiro Omigawa.

Kwon is currently taking part in Road FC's Featherweight tournament, he defeated Omigawa in the opening round and is set to face Kosuke Umeda in the semifinals at Road FC 13.
