Kevin Lee Wiki

Kevin Lee is one of the top young prospects in MMA.

He was born and raised in Detroit and has made two trips to the National's in wrestling. He had only been training MMA for a month before making his amateur debut, winning with a stunning KO. Amassing at 10-0 record as an amateur Lee ended every fight with by KO or submission, 8 of which came in the first round. He earned the spot of number one lightweight in region with a spectacular first round KO of the previous #1 ranked lightweight and won 3 titles in 3 different organizations. His last 4 amateur opponents combined amassed an amazing 47-4 record!

At just 19 years of age in March of 2012 Lee turned pro. Not padding his record with easy fights as young fighters often do, his first three opponents had a combined record of 18-3 which included appearances in Strikeforce and Bellator, and came from gyms like Tristar and American Top Team. Lee has stepped up on numerous occasions to fight fighters with much more experience than him, and given short time to prepare; taking on Bellator and Cage Warriors vet JP Reese on just 24 hours notice.

Kevin's explosive dynamic All American level wrestling combined with his fluid boxing and powerful punches make him a tough match for any lightweight in the world, and as time progresses, the 20 year old will only continue to add tools to his game and gain experience along the way. When asked about his future as an athlete, Kevin proclaims he "just wants an opportunity to compete and showcase my skills for my family. Honestly my family relies on my success, and I'm not going to let them down. MMA is something I love, I'm a huge fan even if I wasn't a fighter, and it has allowed me an opportunity to put myself through school. I just need to put in the hard work, and hopefully it pays off one day for everyone."

In December of 2013, Lee signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC.

Lee made his UFC debut on 1 February, 2014, at UFC 169: Barao vs. Faber. He faced TUF 15 runner-up, Al Iaquinta. In what was a very entertaining fight, Lee eventually received his first lost via UD.

Lee next faced Jesse Roson at The Ultimate Fighter 19: Finale, on 6 July, 2014. Lee capitalized on the combinations and control the clinch to earn his first victory inside the octagon via split decision.

Lee's most recent fight was at UFC 178: Johnson vs. Cariaso, on 27 September, 2014. After 15 dominating minutes, Lee won via UD. Bringing his UFC record above .500.

As of UFC 178 every pro fight Lee has been in, have resulted in a submission victory or decision.
